Team Agreements Supports Courageous Conversations

I recently heard the term “courageous conversations” and loved it so much that I looked it up and embedded it into a workshop I did for Head Start Association’s Region 9’s Summer Camp on effective teaming and managing conflict. Basically, a courageous conversation is when you speak up and express how you feel about issues that are weighing you down. And if you’re anything like me, this is easier said than done. Especially, in light of recent events.

The death of Floyd George has sparked many conversations. Heart breaking, frustrating, angry, raging, enlightening, deep, you name it conversations. None of which have been easy or lighthearted. And in fact, for most of us, we have had to gather our courage in order to even initiate these conversations within our own families, with friends and amongst colleagues.

We at Team agreements applaud your efforts. And in an effort to support, we have recently updated and made available a set of “Culture Cards” with the express purpose of giving people an informal and low risk way to start talking about aspects of culture that tend to be taken for granted and therefore invisible.
