Does Your Team have the Same Vision?
There is a lot of power in visioning because it literally gives us a picture of what we’re looking for. For example, how many of us have planned some type of trip and have pulled up photos and information about our destination? Think about how excited we got. Doing this for our classrooms and home care settings create this sense of excitement as well.
Enter vision or collage boards! Now, some of us know and have done one and for some of us this will be new. It can be done in lots of different ways, using all kinds of materials with the idea of putting pictures and or words on a page. And this is summer! It’s the perfect time to do a vision board.
Start off with the question of what would a perfect day in my classroom or family care setting look like? What would I see or hear that would make it perfect? What would the environment look like? What would the children be doing? What would I and my team members be doing? And then dig into those old magazines or go up on the web and grab photos or clipart. Add words or quotes. Have fun with it. And what’s even more fun is doing this with your team member. At the end, share by comparing images or thoughts. Strategize a few “tweaks” that can be incorporated once school resumes.
