What I Did This Summer!

This summer didn’t look like tropical beaches or bustling conferences—it looked like a keyboard, endless notes, and lots of late nights. I finally finished writing my book on highly effective teams in early childhood. This wasn’t just a writing project; it was a reflection of years spent working alongside educators, navigating the highs and lows of collaboration, conflict, and connection.

For years, people kept telling me, “You need to write a book!”—and eventually, I listened. This book is the result of that encouragement and the generous, honest feedback I’ve received from the many educators, leaders, and readers who have engaged with my work. The final chapters came together in quiet moments, often shaped by the same questions I ask teams: What matters most to us? What gets in our way? What helps us thrive together?

This book is my answer—and it’s meant to be a resource for anyone ready to build or rebuild stronger, healthier teams in our field. The book is scheduled to be released next summer, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

In the meantime, what did you do for yourself this summer? How did you rejuvenate or "fill your cup"?
What ideas do you have for the new school year? What needs to happen to accomplish or implement those ideas?

If your program or leadership team is looking to strengthen collaboration, clarify direction, or address workplace dynamics, let’s connect. I’m currently booking professional development sessions and team retreats inspired by the book’s core practices (personal leadership, strategies for building highly effective teams, and conflict in the workplace).

Let’s connect!
