Kathy Bentley, of Kathy’s Parenting Solutions, LLC is an Early Childhood Consultant, Trainer, and Coach working in Hawai’i. Her career in childhood development began in the 1970s when she worked for Head Start in Rutland, Vermont. Since then, she helped open the first on-site military childcare program at Tripler Army Medical Center in 1995 and worked for a number of organizations including People Attentive to Children (PATCH), Hawaii’s Resource and Referral Agency before starting her own business in 2005. Kathy is experienced in curriculum and training development for early childhood professionals and has been an annual presenter at the Hawaii Association for the Education of Young Children’s (Hawai’i AEYC) conferences and the Hawai’i Baptist Early Childhood Association conference since the early 1990s. Kathy has also presented at Hawai’i AEYC’s Leadership Symposiums since its inception in 2009 and at numerous neighbor island AEYC conferences. In addition, she presents program-specific professional development to a wide variety of schools, early childhood programs, and teachers.

Kathy is an experienced CLASS trainer, observer, coach and mentor coach focused on Toddlers, Pre-K, K-3, and working with educators to unlock their potential and yield better outcomes for students. She is also a trainer for the Pyramid Model for Toddlers, Preschool, and Parents, and has experience with TIPTOES and TPOT assessment tools. She provides in-classroom observation and coaching and serves as a mentor to early childhood professionals across the island of Oahu.

In addition, Kathy is a Nationally Recognized Parent Educator and provides customized coaching to families to help work through individual parenting challenges to build stronger families. She also provides parenting workshops for early childhood programs, elementary schools, and the broader community.

Kathy has her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Castleton University and her Master’s in Counseling Services from Webster University. In 2004 Parent Press selected Kathy as one of 12 outstanding parent educators in North America.
